On September 7, Equifax, one of the three major credit bureaus, announced it had suffered a major data breach.

This breach is no way the fault of the credit union, nor do we have any way of knowing which members (if any) could be affected. Still, with it being such a major concern to all Americans, we are deeply concerned about this and any situation that could cause our members financial distress.

We reached out to the professionals at GreenPath, our credit counseling service partner for advice on what consumers can do about this breach.  While information is still being gathered as to the exact nature of the breach, the GreenPath website has some good advice and content about this important topic.

We encourage all credit union members to visit this link and look over the content/materials. Additionally, we have updated our website with several additional security tips, which are always smart to review.

Additionally, it is important to note that your credit union is always actively monitoring credit and debit card use in order to prevent fraud. We have unparalleled security in this regard. As always, should you have any questions or concerns, we are always here to help you at 814-456-4231, or please stop by any local branch office today!
