The past year has brought many changes in the global fraud landscape.  Recently, we’ve seen an increase in fraud on debit and credit cards that involves the randomized ‘guessing’ of card numbers.  Today we experienced a spike in this activity affecting some of our members’ debit cards.

At Widget Financial, we’re well prepared to detect and prevent payment card fraud as it occurs.  We will notify you by SMS text message and/or phone call if we detect suspicious activity on your card(s) but will never ask you to furnish us personal information in such instances.  You are protected from liability for unauthorized charges to your cards and account; if ever you do notice suspicious activity on your account, please notify us at once.

Unauthorized charges being attempted on one of your cards does require the replacement of your card, however, we can now print new payment cards for you at any of our branch locations in minutes or deliver them to your home in a few business days.  Members affected by payment card fraud may text, call, or visit one of our branch offices for assistance at their convenience.
